We called and we're able to get a personal tour of the museum and the several trails. Beautiful fall outing!
Went for the free Friday education day before the Saturday re-enactment and it was fantastic. This event only happens every other year but defiantly worth your time. Maps, Guns, Music, cannons, black smith, Laundress and more on hand to learn about.
Nice facility. Very interesting and good staff.
My family loves walking the trails around the battlefield, and reading the information markers & monuments along the way. It's a great place to take the kids & get them outside in nature & learning about Oklahoma/US history at the same time. And if you're lucky enough to attend the Battle of Honey Springs reenactment, held every other year, you're sure to have have a wonderful experience.
Should have checked the web first, but my latest information said it was only closed Monday. We went on a Sunday as we were traveling from Arizona to Georgia. the sign at the gate said it was open on Sunday. Also the location is not marked very well coming off the major roads in the area, finally finding a sign when we asked for help. Sounds like we missed a interesting experience.
